Stand in Tadasana for the courage to change and the power to be confident


Stand tall in Tadasana, this is what you hear when you join a yoga class. The teacher then goes on to explain the physical benefits of this pose which include but are not limited to these benefits, Improves posture, strengthens thighs, knees, and ankles
Firms abdomen and buttocks, relieves sciatic and reduces flat feet. But the true power of this pose is mental. When you can gather the power of a physical pose infused with the mental power of affirmations you can create lasting positive change in your life.  Stand in Tadasana for the courage to change and the power to be confident.

This pose can allow you to gain courage create change in your life to improve your life circumstance by giving you the power to be confident in all that you do. This is done when you master the use of this pose in conjunction with the use of your most powerful affirmations after reciting your correctly phrased and constructed goal. Tadasana is a pose that can increase your mental focus and create alertness. The is the breeding ground for those positive feelings that can allow you to create powerful change in your mind, creating an openness and powerful feeling of being in control.

Standing tall in tadasana is critical for the empowerment of your mind. You see what happens many times when we are using our affirmations is that what we are telling ourselves does not match how we are feeling. Neuro-Linguistic Programming
Tells us that our body language even to ourselves is a critical factor when we want to empower positive change in our life.

When you begin to use the pose with your affirmations you can create a powerful internal change, which has otherwise escaped you. To do this pose correctly you must: Stand up straight with both feet at hip-width. Turn your heels a little outward and let your weight rest on your toes that are slightly pointing inward. Your arms hang downwards along the side of your body and the palm of your hands point towards your body, with thumbs pointing forward. Now make the back of your pelvis move away from your lower back. Slightly look upward with your chin slightly pointed upward. Draw your belly into your lower back, and open your chest. The shoulders feel broad and are relaxed.
Your breathing is deep and relaxed. Take two deep breaths, and then begin your chant of affirmations. Continue this chant in this position for about three minutes, relax and begin again with a new affirmation. Stand in Tadasana for the courage to change and the power to be confident.

Do this ritual for thirty days and see your confidence build, a world of opportunities open up for you. Be aware that when you do this consistently and with dedication and determination your life may begin to show signs of improvement within 7 days.

I always tell my clients, not to do this unless they are truly ready for the change they will affect quickly. Another way to make this change happen even more powerfully and quickly is by doing Tadasana affirmation rescue technique in nature, in a place that is quiet and beautiful, in this way you will ensure that your affirmations will become your new internal dialogue even deeper, quicker and lasting. Be prepared for your life to change.

    It is hard to me start working in my new goals so, definetly I need to practice Tadasana. I am happy with my life but I need to do some changes. Since I practice the yoga asanas my life have been changes but better since I have been studying the shakras and yamas/niyamas. I am more happy since I started my yoga journal. Namaste

    Aprigraha showed me to let things go, not be greedy and give without expecting anything in return. There is more to than just giving materialistic things. Love, compassion, happiness, and support is what is more valuable. Material things don’t go with our soul, they get left behind and brake. I love the Tadasana pose however, my favorite pose is Shavasana since my spine feels very comfortable and I can relax to think about my desires and goals. Aprigraha is a useful tool that is shaping my life and others as well.

    I have applied Aprigrapha in my life. By letting go of something old from the past, and buying something new. Sold all my old furniture, and bought all new furniture for our new place. A new start, a new beginning, and starting a new chapter in our lives.

    I really responded to the blog post. I have definitely felt the physical benefits of Tadasana since starting yoga this semester. I have also felt the mental benefits as well. I like to stand tall in tadasana as I go into my morning affirmations. I feel as though it gives the affirmations a confidance & helps to give them strength.

    A parigraha I have tried it in my personal life. And it is quite hard to actually focus. For me personally has been hard to let go of things because to get attached easily. But i have tried to simply let things be its way and not get to me. By trying the parigraha and to keep improving in it

    I believe it’s easy to tell someone to just “stand in tadasana” but means so much more to be standing in tadasana as well as mentally being present. Recently, (because of homework assigned) when I wake and before I sleep, I will repeat an affirmation that was given to our class. When I first started, I took it literally and would repeat the affirmation while in bed. However, more recently I’ve fallen in love with this little ritual/kick off start to day. Now, I get myself out of bed, make my cup of coffee, stand tall in tadasana on balcony, repeat in head or whisper amongst myself the affirmation. And boy oh boy, have I seen a difference in my behavior, emotions, energy and actions throughout the rest of the day, and when I awake! I believe repeating a positive affirmation, whilst standing nice and strong helps your body really start to feel and become the affirmation. Letting it slowly sink and take control of the body.

    The way I have applied Apligraha is by learning to let go of a past situation that affected me. I have done this by looking at my life a realizing all that I have and feeling grateful for it.Versus feeling like I never have enough or focusing on what I don’t have. I have also practiced tadasuna and have noticed how I internally and externally feel so much more energized and positive.

    I agree that yoga can be life changing if you allow it! I know personally it has changed mine in more ways than one. As your “standing tall in tadasana” and repeating your affirmations, you should have no space in your being for anything else. While you are there in tadasana it is easy to let go of any attachments, like aparigraha tells us too. This practice makes it easier let go when we are off of the mat as well.

    I’m going to be completely honest with you and say that I had very low expectations in this class thinking that it was going to be just your average yoga class. But then I met you Professor. I was going to drop the class right away and after the first week I felt amazing. I have a better sense of my body both physically and mentally. Just tother day I let my humanness come out and I swear I felt so horrible. I can feel my energy just hit me like a ton of bricks. Standing tall in tadasana everyday and saying affirmations as part of my daily routine has changed me completely. My mind, body and soul is changing. I am starting to feel happy about myself as well. I am always talking about my yoga practice and I’m probably annoying everyone I talk to about it but hey I love it. Thank you Marti Angel for giving me the opportunity to learn and change through yoga and powerful chakras. I am now and always standing tall.

    Standing in tadasana is liberating to me. Especially those who tend to not walk or stand with a good posture (like myself) can feel the difference immediately. The mental aspect of tadasana really stands out to me, and affirmations seem to have more substance in tadasana compared to sitting in meditation. I can’t wait to try tadasana on the beach with my toes in the sand- I can only imagine how grounded it would make me feel.

    Standing tall in Tadasana definitely spreads confidence throughout my body and gives me the ability to seperate from negative thoughts to thoughts that serve me and to focus on my self within that moment. I am currently applying Aprigraha to my life by getting rid of unnecessary ties whether it be with old things around the house or relationships with others. So far it has been working and I have been noticing small changes when it comes to achieving small steps towards some of my short term goals by allowing me to focus on them without distractions. I am hoping aprigraha will be able to bring me out of the past in order to work towards my future.

    When someones says stand in Tadasana to me, I can only picture myself standing tall and clearing my mind. This has given me a chance to clear my thoughts of any negative emotions I have when walking into class so I can enjoy the rest of the session without having to feel hate. I taught this to my mother who is usually stressed out after work and she loves it! Unfortunately she could not do other exercises that we have done in class.In short, we both enjoy the benefits of tadasana as it gives us the strength to move forward in life.

    I can tell from experience that doing tadasana in class can be very relaxing and grounding. The first I did it, i didn’t feel much of a difference but when done right it can really help you relax. So when I did it the next couple of times I didn’t feel a big change but as I really started to do it correctly, it felt really good letting all that tension and stress leave your body.

    I feel like yoga has in fact improved my mental state of mind because I am starting to become confident in the actions I take. I’m no longer second guessing what I do. This post has made me realize how far I’ve come since I’ve started learning yoga. I like to stand tall in Tadasana when I do yoga because it makes me feel relaxed and at ease. Yoga has taught me so much so far and I can’t wait to learn more great things!

    Okay so this is my fifth time trying to post a comment since Sunday, but it is never on here. Standing tall in tadasana is something that I now do within my morning routine. Ever since the first week of going to yoga practice I found that little by little my life has been changing. To be honest with you I have never thought that yoga had more to offer then movement. It is tackling me mentally, spiritually, and psychically. When I say spiritually I mean by bringing me closer to what I believe in. I can’t wait to see and feel the end result of my small changes throughout my time in this yoga practice. I thank you for helping me become a better person. I already love who I am. And I am and will always stand tall in tadasana.

    Standing tall in Tadasana is the perfect example of changing your energy to better help your thoughts and overall your growth. I personally am struggling with continuously standing tall in tadasana, mainly because I feel I haven’t quite mastered how to balance things, as well as completely detaching enough to completely focus on myself and be in the present time. I find myself some mornings so caught up my job and trying to do a million things at once throughout the day that I forget to relax, and even notice my own breathing. But slowly but surely, I have been working on trying to take a step back, stay grounded, remember affirmations, and truly being aware. Because the only way to improve is to fully be in the moment with an open heart, ears and positive mind set and with that day by day still I can feel my energy vibrating different and my self confidence and not to mention self love (which both things I normally struggle with) increasing.

    When I first joined this class I was under the impression we’ simply be hitting the mat for about an hour each class period. I was pleasantly surprised as it’s been so much more than that. Every morning when I speak my affirmations I set a more positive and light tone to my day ahead. Standing in Tadasana isn’t just a pose but aligns the body and mind to more awareness and openness in my opinion. With Aparigrapha I have tried to analyze where my thoughts and feelings are coming from. Some of them do not serve me and the truth I want to live, so I am working on letting them go. I am grateful for this class and this experience that has me soul searching.

    I have not been standing correctly in tadasana…. Though I do believe since starting Yoga this semester I have gained so much positivity. Through out my daily life I reflect on what I’ve learned so far & applied it to my everyday situations. Now after learning this I will work on standing correctly & try to continue to grow positively.

    Tadasana, will increase my confidence which I believe I need. everytime I practice I will try to remember some of the benefits like good posture, firms abdomen, relives sciatic. But most important mental focus.

    I’m am starting my journey of yoga at the age of 18. As a teenager there are constant emotions going on within me, but yoga has altered my view on many things. Such as my inner thoughts, how I think of myself and my body, which has lead me to be open minded. Tasadana especially has shown me to welcome in thing with open arms and be accepting of other people, nature, and god.

    I’m so glad Tadadana is one of our first poses. It helps me greatly to stand tall, clear my mind of all distractions and focus on the moment and frankly a “ME” time. I can then truly be enriched in my transformation. When I leave this class I feel mental rejuvenation in the sense that my thinking is clear, I have more energy and not only did I release good endorphins , I have positive vibes to open my eyes, heart and soul and view the outside world differently. It’s as if this is a therapy class – you are changing yourself for the better and learn invaluable tools to live our lives in clarity, balance and transparency. Thank you

    In my opinion tadasana is all about creating positive change which is what life is about. When we stand tall in tadasana we are confident because we have our chest up, heart open, and bent knees. We need to transfer this postures energy into our minds, which creates courage, confidence, and control.Courage and confidence in everything we do is essential in order for us too live a happy and positive life. It gives us the motivation and energy that nobody will. Control in our lives helps us achieve our goals, it makes us have a clear vision of our dreams we need too keep on chasing. In my opinion body language can say a lot about a person and tadasana is the perfect posture on how we should approach life and conduct our body language. We need too approach life with our heart open, chest up full of courage and confidence all in control.

    “You see what happens many times when we are using our affirmations is that what we are telling ourselves does not match how we are feeling” , we need to be congruent with our body and mind. It is very interesting how standing tall in Tsadasana can test our courage and how by doing this pose everyday the confidence and power that is hidden inside me starts to diffuse and reflect in my life.
