5 minute skin care routine that leaves my skin feeling young

As a Celavive®  ambassador, Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, and professor of nutritional science,  I am constantly asked: “why is skin care so important”?
My answer has much to do with all my lifetime practice of eating for my skin.   I remember when I was young my grandmother used to say “eat your tomatoes your cheeks will love you for it”.
Well, I want you all to know that I am well over the age of 50 and I have had a hysterectomy so I dod not produce the estrogen that helps keep the skin moist.
So I want to be honest, I was quite skeptical at first when trying these products, but I use the supplements so I thought, wait if they use the InCelligence Technology® then this must be good.
So I tried it, loved it and I am not going back!!  I love the skin I am in now!!
Did you know that our largest organ is our skin??
Proper skin care is important because our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. … Cracks in the skin makes a person more prone to infection.
Skincare products should be free of scents or perfumes. but don’t take it from me– here is a quote from
Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Proper skin care helps to keep our outermost surface layer of skin intact. This layer maintains skin’s overall hydration and serves as our primary defense against the environment, so keeping it strong and healthy is critical.
Harsh cleansers, for example, can damage the outer layer by stripping essential lipids and moisture. Using a proper skin care regimen daily can help preserve this important protective layer.

Basic Skin Facts

  • The skin is the largest organ in the body. An organ is defined as a part of the body that is self- contained and has a specific vital function. It protects against heat, sunlight, injury, and infection. The skin also regulates body temperature and stores fat, water and vitamin D.
  • The thinnest skin is found on your eyelids.
  • The skin around our whole body has its own unique stretching ability.
  • Your skin has 3 layers, which are the epidermis, dermis and subcutis. The epidermis is waterproof and mainly a layer of dead skin cells. The dermis is the layer of sweat glands and hair. The subcutis is the layer comprised of fat and blood vessels.
  • The average person’s skin weighs 9 pounds and spans 21 square feet.
  • Skin color is the results of melanin. No matter your skin color, everyone has the same amount of melanin in their skin. The skin color depends on the activity of the melanin, not the amount. 7% of your skin cells are melanocytes.
  • Melanin is also responsible for the color of your eyes. The skin that covers your eyes is very sensitive and clear.
  • Lighter skin tones facilitate vitamin D production.
When looking for skin care products, I always recommend ones that are devoid of these “YOUTH STEALERS” And for me being a 2-time Cancer survivor this is extremely important.
